Leadership Studies

Undergraduate Major and Minor Programs

The Leadership Studies program at San Diego State University (SDSU) offers both a major and a minor. Both the Leadership Studies major and minor are designed to develop self-aware, culturally competent, and transformational leaders, and offer students the opportunity to participate in experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and service learning projects. These experiences give students the chance to practice their leadership skills in real-world settings.

The Major

The Leadership Studies major is also multidisciplinary and includes courses from a variety of departments, such as psychology, communication, education, business, public administration, philosophy, political science, journalism and media studies, and cultural diversity. The major is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers in which leadership skills are essential.
